In the year 2012, Godson Nuworpor, a human right activist and community worker, won a place from the call for proposal by Vodafone Ghana for its annual program dubbed “World of Difference” program to work with Belfow as a volunteer. There is a special needy school in Obuasi Adansi in the Ashanti Region, for children with intellectual disabilities. Needs assessment undertake priority to the submission of the proposals indicated as result of stigma, these children’s rights to education are being hindered and enrollment at the special school has been very erratic over the years. The objective was to correct that infringement and to get the children enrolled in main stream schools. The programme was supervised by United Way Ghana. The team for the programme was Rights of Children with Intellectual Disability – Right to Education. Better Life for Women is an advocacy group established in 1998 in Obuasi to champion the cause of women and parents with disability children by educating them on their rights, to fight violence against women and children.
